چکیده

ABSTRACT Objectives To date, the clinical stability of dual-thread orthodontic miniscrews has not been studied. This study aimed to compare primary and long-term success rate cylindrical examine association between various factors miniscrews. Materials Methods A total 145 135 were inserted in maxillary mandibular buccal alveolar areas 142 patients. The torque Periotest (Siemens, Bensheim, Germany) values recorded during insertion removal. effect variables such as sex, age, screw design, jaw, side placement, root proximity, site placement on was examined using logistic regression analysis. Results There no statistically significant difference (P = .595) overall two designs, with an 82.1% 84.4% for miniscrews, respectively. Age screw-root proximity significantly associated failure < .05). Conclusions did show superior compared results this suggest that patient age influence

Thread shape factor: evaluation of three different orthodontic miniscrews stability.

The thread shape factor (TSF) to evaluate the relationships between geometrical characteristics and mechanical properties of the temporary anchorage devices (TADs) has recently been introduced. This in vitro experimental study evaluated in 30 different tests with three TADs: ORTHOImplant (1.8 mm diameter and 10 mm length; 3M Unitek), Tomas (1.6 mm diameter and 10 mm length; Dentaurum), and Orth...

Effects of microgrooves on the success rate and soft tissue adaptation of orthodontic miniscrews.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effect of microgrooves on orthodontic miniscrews in terms of success rate and soft tissue adaptation in animal experiments. MATERIALS AND METHODS The sample consisted of a non-microgroove (NMG) group and a microgroove group (MG; 50 microm pitch and 10 microm depth microgroove on the upper surface of the miniscrew). Miniscrews of 1.6 mm diameter and 6.0 mm length were...

Biologic stability of plasma ion-implanted miniscrews

OBJECTIVE To gain basic information regarding the biologic stability of plasma ion-implanted miniscrews and their potential clinical applications. METHODS Sixteen plasma ion-implanted and 16 sandblasted and acid-etched (SLA) miniscrews were bilaterally inserted in the mandibles of 4 beagles (2 miniscrews of each type per quadrant). Then, 250 - 300 gm of force from Ni-Ti coil springs was appli...

Thread Pitch Variant in Orthodontic Mini-screws: A 3-D Finite Element Analysis

Orthodontic miniscrews are widely used as temporary anchorage devices to facilitate orthodontic movements. Miniscrew loosening is a common problem, which usually occurs during the first two weeks of treatment. Macrodesign can affect the stability of a miniscrew by changing its diameter, length, thread pitch, thread shape, tapering angle and so on. In this study, a 3-D finite element analysis wa...

Strain of bone-implant interface and insertion torque regarding different miniscrew thread designs using an artificial bone model.

OBJECTIVES To evaluate the initial stability of dual-thread miniscrews by analyzing the strain at the bone-implant interface and insertion torque during implantation in artificial bone models with different cortical bone thicknesses. MATERIALS AND METHODS Insertion torque, and strain, measured with a five-element strain gauge in 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0-mm artificial cortical bone, during insertion ...
